“I can’t go on with this to be honest; I am expected to award points based against a system I don’t believe in. Fundamentally it is too complex, I only want two options for this, what do they give me? Decimal points….”

Life’s too complicated these days, how many passwords do you have to remember? There are too many varieties of sausages to pick from, too many shampoos, and too many options on the iron – you only need to flatten your clothes why the options?

Options are good in some respects, if you had to have the same sandwich filling every day, or if socks only came in one colour, or if you had to have sugar in your tea you wouldn’t be best pleased would you?

But there are too many….

ilikeyours.com is a new platform to show off you, and what you like. Be it your new hair cut, new shoes, a picture of the cat falling over, a table with only three legs, your boyfriends tattoo, jenny's new piercing, your sketch of what you did last Saturday afternoon....anything.

We use a unique rating system - we find 1-10 a bit boring, who wants to be awarded a 7.3?

ah Google: a big engine thing, arranges search, all very worthwhile and useful. But if you want to find something specific, something small (in a good way), something that doesn't have a website (the cool ones) how do you do it?

ilikeyours.com offers a platform for creative types - the thinkers of the world to advertise themselves, and their work. Think art, designs, products, shops, or your shoes for sale.... That's what we do.

When you upload pictures you get a little box to complete, in it you can add as much detail as you like, including links.

Everything that's in a caption is searchable.

So be specific, people search by keywords - so if you want you, or your business to be found, then add detail, lead people in.

Growing a Cabbage

What is it like to grow a cabbage?

Boring probably. You plant the thing, watch it, avoid it, pull it out of the ground, put it in a bag, take it home and eat it. Then repeat the process.

And there horrible: its green for one, nothing that's nice is green - think peas.... and its disgusting to eat without any gravy (but if your mum puts the cabbage juice in the gravy you don't need to eat the cabbage)

What's this got to do with ilikeyours.com?

Nothing.

We're keen on art you know: body art and the type you hang from the wall or get painted onto your body. So if you have a tattoo, or your into art per se upload it to www.ilikeyours.com we have a unique rating system you see.....you can sell it as well, and advertise you and your work for free.

If this doesn't grab you how about a picture of you, or your auntie pat, the cat, the cabbage on the boil, a duck drowning, that stuff you put in your hair, or well anything....

ilikeyours.com is about you, and what you like.

We offer a platform to showcase you, your work, what you represent, or what you want to sell.

We use a unique rating system to judge or assess all images. It’s called ilikeyours.

We don′t use the old 1-10 system. Like so many other rating sites. We find all that a bit dull.

Reminds us of school, you get all of your marks added up and at the end of the year, you get an average score, and you get 7.5 when you promised your mum you′d get 8. Like school, boring.

We like our name; ilikeyours.com, so we thought we′d use that to rate things, you have two choices, not ten, ilikeyours, or “idontlikeyours”.

We think it works better than the old 1-10, if you see someone who looks cool you don′t think “I′d rate them about a 7.44 recurring “….This isn′t ice skating or a boring dance show. It′s about liking and disliking. So we only need the two rating options.

What can we do for you?

Well, a lot, we can offer you a platform to showcase you, your work, your company, anything really. You can use the caption box to add links to other sites, phone numbers….anything that raises your profile.

All you need to do is pick a category that best fits what you do, or what you are uploading and get going….it’s very easy.

The search facility will pick up anything that you put as a caption, so if you want to be found under a general query, be specific.

Now, there are rules, not many. But there are rules. Please cast your eye to the bottom of the page where it says privacy policy and have a read. It′s there to protect you (and us); put simply don′t put pictures up of people who are under the age of 18, or anything that would make us blush either please (i.e. no pornographic material) it will simply be taken down. Please use the report button if you see anything untoward

What have we learned so far?

No one likes to see a fat man in his pants, or whatever is going on down there....

A tattooed tongue is more interesting than a picture of a cat

And emo, well just emo....

We need to learn more though,

Things we can do - shout about it, make the categories more specific.

Things we can't do - make lent last for ten days, sew buttons onto coats.

The last of the guests are seated, the light turn towards the stage, a cough, a flutter and then the curtain opens.....

Numbers, numbers, numbers. Necessary but dull (like a washing line, or a gearbox)

Follow us, let's dip into this passage together;

" 1 is interesting as it is the multplicative identity.

2 is interesting because it is the only even prime.

3 is interesting because it is the first Mersenne prime.

4 is interesting because it is the first non-trivial square. Also it is the first number that is the sum of two primes....."

Are you still there? Let's stop. (that list goes up to 100)... Its boring.

Numbers are for the background they run around making the hands on the clock move, hold the stars in the sky, tell you how much flour goes into the cake, when do you need to be at the hairdressers? Numbers tell you....

Numbers are the ultimate support staff.

Necessary, but dull.

So when it comes to rating people.. We need something else, something more exact, something more exciting than any number could ever be.

The best thing about vehicles is what you see whilst you are in them.

Sometimes you see people from vehicles, and when you see people you automatically form an opinion; just by first look, its like an auto pilot kind of thing. You may sum up these feelings as ilikeyours, or idontlikeyours, just on how they look...

Maybe you think that this is frivolous, but before you put your clipboard down and turn off the light - remember that you do it too. After all, it's only natural....

So when it comes to vehicles, what's the best one? The internet - that's the best, as you can travel without actually moving - clever that....

We thought it may be time (finally) to say hello, peep round the screen see what's afoot. We are ilikeyours.com which sounds all mysterious doesn't it? Well its not (or not in a bad way anyway), its going to be fun, its going to be interesting, it's going to be interactive and we're hoping its going to be useful to you.

We are going to look at what you like... and perhaps dont like. Good phrase "ilikeyours", but there's another phrase "idontlikeyours" hmmmm which to choose...

Now dates, everyone likes a good date.. well it will launch this month - dont whisper it, SHOUT it out.. this month January of 2010

So stand by, we are still building away.

Let's think about journeys. This is a good one, perhaps a long one, but the best always are. No one likes to go on journeys, but everyone likes to arrive. So let's have a base, a base from which to start our journey.

We can all arrive at the same time then, a host always appreciates that. Let's call our base ilikeyours.com, this will be our base, ours and yours that is.
